Washington, DC Metro Church IT RoundTable
Posted by Andrew Mitry under DC CITRT
David Russell, David Clark and I have started planning a Washington, DC Metro Church IT RoundTable (CITRT). We have tentatively scheduled a lunch at Ebenezers for noon on May 24th, 2007. We welcome anyone active in using technology in a Christian environment to attend.
Goals for our first meeting:
- Introduce the CITRT, PodCast and ITdiscuss (see outline from Travis Kensil)
- Do a little networking and encourage those who are attending to invite other Church IT folks (see survey from Travis)
- Create list of possible topics (see suggested questions from Travis)
- A quick cool tool or technology minute (similar to what Jason does on the PodCast)
Hopefully we will eventually be able to setup dc.citrt.org for our local chapter but until then you can catch the latest updates here:

Please comment below if you will be able to join us.
If you aren’t in DC watch Tony’s post for updates on other Church IT Gatherings.

May 11th, 2007 at 2:20 am[...] My friend Andrew Mitry hit me up a few days ago about getting something rolling here in the Washington metro area. Dave and I were more than happy to join the fray. So we’re planning on having the first CITRT-DC at Ebenezers Coffeehouse on Capitol Hill, May 24 at high noon. These plans are tentative, but we hope to solidify and confirm soon. It is certain enough to mark on your calendar. [...]

I would be interested in attending. How long would the session be?

I am guessing that it will end up going for about two hours.

I’m in DE, but this sounds like its the closest CITRT event. I’m tentatively planning in attending. I would also be interested in touring a church and talking shop w/ IT or DBM, if anyone would welcome that.

Most probably, John Basta, our DB admin (among other things) will be coming with me - he is expecting a baby around that time so he might not make it. Ebenezers is actually the operating base for National Community Church - I’m sure we can talk Dave & Dave into a tour. You are also more than welcome to come back out to Fairfax with me and tour our operation (or meet me before - whatever works better for you).

I am new to this site, but would love to come to the RoundTable. I am the Assistant Director of IT at McLean Bible Church which is right outside of Washington, DC. Please let me know more details and how myself and the rest of my staff can become a part of this. Thanks!

Welcome Martin! We would love to have you and your staff attend with us. This will actually be our first meeting so details are still a little rough. All we need to know right now is how many people are coming so we can make sure there is enough food

I’d be interested in attending as well. It would be great to get something like this going locally.
